If you speak to a lot of Muslims who seem to want to talk about their faith, then one thing that I have found that they like to do, is to make up their own Islam as they go along, in order to explain the things that don't make sense in the Quran. Their scholars are supposed to provide proofs for any ruling that they make, but it looks as if the dawah Muslims are even better, because they act as if proofs are unimportant for anything that they are saying about their belief.
